Pilot Action Results, Stocktaking and Outlook on further Implementation: Online conference

6 June 2023 // 10h00 to 15h00 (CET)
Organisation: German Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR)

Two and a half years ago, the Territorial Agenda 2030 (TA 2030) was adopted – it is now time for a stocktaking of implementation results. On this occasion, the German Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) is pleased to invite you to this conference.

The conference will focus on the results of the pilot action “A future for lagging regions: Fostering the implementation of spatial planning strategies”, led by Germany. The six partner regions in Portugal, Austria, France and Germany developed innovative spatial planning solutions that improve the liveability of rural regions – for example in the areas of mobility, digitization and health. These partner regions will therefore present their learnings from implementing spatial actions.

The conference will also provide a review on the implementation of the TA2030 so far. Other European pilot actions will present their results from local, regional, and national perspectives. The Territorial Agenda 2030 was adopted on December 1, 2020, at an informal meeting of the ministers during the German EU Council Presidency. Under the heading "A future for all places", the document formulates guidelines for a spatial planning policy in the EU, which is based on a just and green development of the regions in Europe.

A final panel debate will also reflect lessons learned and benefits from the implementation of pilot actions and discuss next steps of the Territorial Agenda 2030.
